Graduate taught
Our Master's programmes equip students with a range of highly valued skills for work in policy, practice and research settings.
Our Master’s programmes are in three main areas: Social Policy, Research Methods and Sociology, with a number of specialist routes.
Social Policy
Our main programme in this area is the Social Policy (Research Methods) MSc. This offers the opportunity to study social policy and the place of research and evidence within policy-making and practice, as well as a range of methods used in social science. We also have a specialist route Social Policy (Evidence Synthesis) MSc, which has a core focus on methods for evidence synthesis and the systematic review of research.
Research Methods
Our Social Research Methods with Data Science MSc involves studying a wide range of cutting-edge quantitative methods used in social science, with the opportunity to also learn qualitative and evidence synthesis approaches.
Sociology
We are launching a new Sociology MSc in September 2025. This will also have specialist routes in Sociology and Data Science and in Sociology and Social Inequalities. We continue to offer our Sociology of Childhood and Children’s Rights MA.
