Intimacies, Relationships and Identities

We engage in research about experiences of love and intimacy within diverse family and relationship forms.

Our studies on these topics range from:

  • understandings and experiences of love, marriage and intimacy among Gujarati Indians
  • research on how the care of children affects the parental couple's 'intimate' relationship
  • exploration of the impact of stress related to discrimination on the health of same-sex couples.

Methods

We employ novel qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods designs including dyadic longitudinal surveys, ethnography and interviews.

Funders

Our funders include:

  • Leverhulme Trust.
  • US National Institutes for Child Health and Human Development.
