We are an established specialist teaching centre within the IOE. Our shared values of education, teaching, teacher training and academic communication are embedded in our five main operations:
- academic communication across UCL faculties, through credit-bearing Modern Foreign Language modules from complete beginner to near-native competence (in Arabic, British Sign Language, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish) and English for Academic Purposes modules;
- academic communication support for all current UCL students through the UCL Academic Communication Centre (ACC);
- multi-disciplinary UCL Summer School modules;
- high-quality academic preparation and support of international students through undergraduate and postgraduate pre-degree courses (International Foundation Year, International Pre-Master’s Pre-sessional English courses);
- enterprise, such as tailored courses for professionals and international students: Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA), continuing professional development, Pre-University Summer course, Summer English course and Evening language courses.
