Courses offered by the Centre for Holocaust Education.
Our national programme
Our national programme of professional development is the vehicle through which we provide teachers with the training and resources they require to transform their practice. It is offered free of charge across England to teachers in service and in training. The programme is composed of the following.
CPD (in person and self-guided)
Since 2009 we have been providing teachers with high-quality in-person training opportunities. Through interactive workshops with bespoke classroom materials we help develop teachers’ subject knowledge, introduce them to key issues, and model pedagogical approaches.
We are also developing a growing catalogue of self-guided online CPD courses. These offer teachers a flexible way to develop their professional expertise at their convenience.
ITE
Every year we help hundreds of trainee teachers to navigate the challenges that come with teaching about the Holocaust.
Through long-standing partnerships with all the leading universities and teacher-training providers we help develop effective planning techniques and equip them with the tools to advance learning during their placements and into their first full-time posts.
MA
Our 10-week online MA module, The Holocaust in the Curriculum, provides teachers with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the theories and debates taking place within Holocaust education.
Being more informed, teachers are then supported to reflect on their aims and objectives, what Holocaust education is, and how the field has developed in recent decades.
