The UCL Institute of Education (IOE) ITE Partnership is committed to supporting our student teachers to become deeply knowledgeable, creative, and adaptable members of the teaching profession.
Teachers who train with us become critical thinkers and strong collaborators who can tackle inequalities and make positive impacts on the life chances of their learners.
Our partnership is based on collaboration between the university and over 500 hundred diverse schools, early years settings and colleges throughout the London region. Partners take shared responsibility to help design and provide programmes that:
- challenge and support student teachers to become innovative and effective practitioners
- integrate critical and scholarly thinking with teaching
- draw on the expertise of both university tutors and mentors in practice settings
- induct new teachers into the teaching profession, developing the capacity and commitment to go on learning throughout a teaching career.
High quality tutoring and mentoring are key elements of the ITE Partnership, working together to support the professional growth and wellbeing of our student teachers.
The ITE Partnership makes a vibrant and essential contribution to the IOE’s role as a world-leading university for education.
