Alia Adel Saleh

Dr. Alia A. Saleh is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. She was graduated from Faculty of Medicine in 2002, achieved master degree in neuropsychiatry in 2007, and doctorate degree in psychiatry in 2013. She shows particular interest in old age psychiatry, dementia and sleep medicine. She collaborated with her professors and colleagues in old psychiatry unit in Cairo University in establishing a memory clinic in the Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Hospital. She has published a number of research articles and participated in a number of national and international conferences in the field of old age psychiatry and dementia. She was also board certified from the European Sleep Research Society as a clinical somnologist in 2017. In 2019, she was granted professor Ahmed Okasha Egyptian award for her research and scientific contributions. She was also granted the Academy of Medical Science Daniel Turnberg travel fellowship in 2019. 

Ola Osama Khalaf

She is a Associate Professor of Psychiatry in Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University with 13 years of experience in treating different psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia, other psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, etc.) of different age groups with experience in both group and individual psychotherapy. During these 13 years, she had her M.Sc. and M.D. degree in psychiatry and her M.D. thesis was investigating the relation between depression and cognitive dysfunction in elderly. She also attended and participated in several workshops, courses and international conferences. She has experience in providing supportive group psychotherapy for patients suffering from chronic, disabling diseases and cancer patients. She gave several workshops on mindfulness and she practices it with her clients in sessions. She was in the team managing gender dysphoria clinic in Psychiatry and Addiction Hospital in Cairo University.  

Reham Kamel

She   is   a   lecturer   of   psychiatry   at   Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. She has an experience in the field of psychiatry for 11 years, dealing with different age groups (child, adolescent, adult and geriatric) psychiatry. She had her master degree in 2014 and her M.D. in 2017. She is a certified DBT therapist from Linenhan Institute, published a number of researches nationally and internationally. Her current research focuses on liaison psychiatry, effect of culture on psychopathology, and child and adolescent’s mental health

She   is   a   lecturer   of   psychiatry   at   Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. She had her master degree in and her M.D. in Psychiatry. She is a member of the old age psychiatry unit in the university. She is a certified DBT therapist from Linenhan Institute, published a number of researches nationally and internationally. Her current research focuses on old age psychiatry, dementia, and cognitive stimulation therapy. 

Osama Refaat

He is a professor of psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. He had his master degree in neuropsychiatry and M.D. in Psychiatry. He shows particular interest in old age psychiatry and trauma and stress related psychotherapeutic interventions and is a member of old age psychiatry unit in the university. He is a certified Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy from the Trauma Aid U.K. (TAUK).

She is a Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University and head of the Old Age Psychiatry unit, Faculty of medicine Cairo university. She is a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Practice and Vice President of Research Unit, General secretary of mental health Ministry of health. She is a Consultant for many NGOs programs caring for street children and recognized by UNIEF.

Dr. George Tadros is a Professor of Liaison Psychiatry and Dementia, Aston Medical School and Clinical Director of the Urgent Care Pathway, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust. He pioneered a new model known as Rapid Assessment and Interfaced Discharge (RAID) that is now implemented in 27 NHS trusts in the U.K.

Research Projects
Adapting Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for Dementia to the Egyptian Culture.

The project involves translation to Arabic language and cultural adaptation of the CST manual 1 and 2 (Making a Difference: An Evidence-based Group Programme to Offer Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) to People with Dementia) and (Making a Difference 2: Volume Two: An Evidence-based Group Programme to Offer Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) to People with Dementia). This will be followed by performing a feasibility study to test the applicability and cultural sensitivity of the adapted manuals to a sample of Egyptian patients suffering from dementia. The study will be conducted in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Hospital in Cairo University, Egypt.
