The IAS is leaving X (formerly Twitter)

At the IAS, we have made the decision to leave X (Twitter) and thus will stop using the platform to promote the Institute’s activities.

We have been discussing this move for some time, and we have now reached a point where - as the Guardian stated following their X departure - we consider that the negatives of being on X outweigh the benefits. It is our view that the widespread and persistent dissemination of conspiracy theories, racism and misogyny on X is incompatible with the IAS’s commitment to open dialogue, responsible freedom of speech and accurate information.

Instead we will be sharing our news and events on BlueSky. We hope you will join us there: @ucl-ias.bsky.social. We will also continue to use our Facebook page, facebook.com/UCL.IAS
