Refugee Theatre Workshop

This fun and informative workshop is open to all students, researchers and staff.  It’s led by Tom Bailey, the Leverhulme Artist in Residence at UCL’s Migration Research Unit.

Throughout 2015-2016, Tom was making theatre and running workshops with refugees at the Good Chance Theatre in the Calais ‘Jungle’ camp.  In this workshop, Tom will give a talk exploring his experiences of making theatre in a refugee context, and the joys and challenges of making work in the ‘Jungle’ camp.  In the second half, Tom will lead participants in sharing some of the fun practical exercises he used to create live performance in the ‘Jungle‘ camp.  Whether you’re an artist, student, researcher or just curious, it’s a great opportunity to explore some of the dynamics of making refugee-led art.
