Marq will be speaking about his research (by way of academic writing, curatorial projects, and collaboration) on the subject of research; and specifically on 'How To Catch A Ghost', his book on researching/searching/finding/not finding as praxes, on autobiography/biography/memoir as forms, and on his long-dead father.

About the Speaker
Marquard Smith
Associate Professor at IOE - Culture, Communication & Media
Marq is an academic, curator, editor, and commissioner, with twenty five years experience working mostly in an art school context, and collaborating with cultural organisations such as Arts Catalyst, Freud Museum, ICA, Live Art Development Agency, MK Gallery, Tate, Wellcome Collection, and Whitechapel on exhibitions, publications, and public programming.
