We will be discussing Liane Maria Bertucci's ‘Herbs, Roots, Amulets, and Prayers in the Practices of “Saint” Vicente and other Healers in São Paulo in the 1910s’ from the 2021 collection of essays The Gray Zones of Medicine: Healers and History in Latin America University, edited by Diego Armus and Pablo Gomez (available online through JSTOR).
