Change of date

Apologies for any inconvenience but the date for this year's qUCL/GFRN PGR Research 'Work in Progress' symposium has had to be changed.

It will now take place on Thursday 22nd May 2025 from 12 - 5pm in the IAS Common Ground.

Lunch will be included, followed by a drinks reception for students and staff from 5-6:30pm. Please register for catering purposes: https://qucl-gfrn-wips-2025.eventbrite.co.uk

The aim of the event is for PGR students to meet each other, network, see what you are all working on at the moment and support each other's research in a nice friendly environment. Staff are also warmly encouraged to attend. This year we'll also be opening up participation to broader networks of PhD students beyond UCL through other neighbouring programmes.

We can programme a mixture of sessions/presentations depending on needs/take up, so if you want a longer slot to present something in a bit more depth or a short 10 min slot just to ask for a bit of help on a smaller aspect of your research we can accommodate both. We can also arrange different formats such as roundtable discussions, if you would like to propose an idea with colleagues. If you are very new to your research and would just like to say "hey, here's what I'm working on...more to come" we could also run a session for newer PhD students to present a one-slide summary of their prospective projects.

If you are a student working broadly on gender and sexual diversity and would like to present aspects of your research in a friendly and supportive environment, please let us know by sending a title, a short abstract and presentation format/length to Simon Lock (simon.lock@ucl.ac.uk) or Alex Hyde (a.hyde@ucl.ac.uk) by Tuesday 6th May.

We look forward to hearing all about your research next term.
