There are many opportunities to apply for small sums of money (£1-2k) to support research, public engagement or knowledge exchange, and ECRs are usually encouraged to apply. In addition to the external funders, such as the British Academy, UCL offers several such seed funds, especially for cross-disciplinary work through the Grand Challenges. The IAS also has various schemes.
But how do you make your application stand out from the pile? This workshop will provide guidance and advice on applying for small grants in AHSS subjects, from making a good pitch to designing a credible budget. There will be time for discussion and questions, and if you have a draft proposal please bring it with you for specific advice.
Workshop convenor: Professor Nicola Miller
