Reading for Wellbeing Reading Group: You Must Read This Book!

03 February 2023, 1:00 pm–2:00 pm

A tray with autumnly leaves, an open book is placed on it and a mug with a creamy hot drink. Next to the tray is a blanket.

This reading group, started by Sam Rayner, Vice Dean of Wellbeing for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, warmly welcomes any UCL staff who would like to meet and talk about how books – all kinds of books! – can help us with our sense of wellbeing.

You Must Read This Book!

Following the winter break, when hopefully people have been given or had the chance to read new books, the A&H Faculty Wellbeing team are holding a competition for staff to submit brief reviews of books they think are must reads!  Simply submit your review (max 300 words) to the Padlet board, here. Entries must be in by the end of Monday 30th January. Winners will be notified in the week beginning 6th February, and will receive book token prizes!

Our Reading Group session on Friday 3rd February will be connected to this competition, looking at some of the recommendations, and hopefully talking to some of the people who have posted them!  Get in touch if you’d like to pitch your book to the group!

This is a virtual event. Please note that there may be recording at some events. Please follow this FAQ link for more information. All our events are free but you can support the IAS here.
