The Complete Works of W.R. Bion was edited singlehandedly by Chris Mawson with the assistance of Francesca Bion. The Collected Works of D. W. Winnicott used many contributors and many voices. Both invite close study and continuing collaboration between analysts and scholars nationally and internationally. The Chilean society has begun translating the Winnicott volume by volume. This event opens a discussion of shared scholarship in the translation of certain terms and their provenance from one psychoanalytic school and orientation to another, as well as one language to another. We want to address the commonalities of theme within apparently very different approaches and argue for the value of shared research and shared clinical activity.
