IMD Welcomes New Laboratory Manager to the Team

The Institute for Materials Discovery (IMD) at University College London is excited to announce the appointment of our new Laboratory Manager, Dr Ben Rowsell.

Ben brings a wealth of expertise and experience in research and laboratory management. He completed his PhD in 2022 at the University of Bristol under the supervision of Prof. Robin Bedford, focusing on earth-abundant metal catalysis. Following his doctoral work, he joined Rice University as a postdoctoral researcher in 2023, where he collaborated with Julian West on cutting-edge projects.

In 2024, Ben joined the School of Pharmacy at UCL as a Laboratory Manager, further honing his skills in managing high-caliber research facilities. Now, he bring this extensive background to IMD, supporting our mission to advance innovative materials research.

We are thrilled to welcome Ben to the team and look forward to his contributions in fostering a world-class research environment at the Institute, both in Bloomsbury and East.
