UCL Department of Information Studies is delighted to announce two new appointments

Dr Caroline Davis will be joining us from Oxford Brookes in September to take up the post of Associate Professor in Publishing. Caroline is a highly respected teacher and researcher in book history and publishing studies, her textbook Print Culture: a Reader in Theory and Practice is well known to students and she is author of African Literature and the CIA and Creating Postcolonial Literature. She is currently a British Academy fellow working on British Publishing in Africa 1900-1965.

Dr Simon Rowberry will be joining us from University of Stirling in August to take up the post of Lecturer in Publishing. Simon is a well-known academic in digital media and publishing who has been working on the history and future of eBooks and digital publishing. His first book, Four Shades of Gray: The Rise and Plateau of the Kindle will be published by MIT Press in Spring 2022 and he's currently working on a history of Project Gutenberg for Cambridge University Press' Elements in Publishing and Book Culture.
