Sloane Lab Research Fellow and Research Assistant roles available

Post 1:

Post Doctoral Research Fellow (1st of April to 31st of December 2023 / 9 months / 0.2 FTE, 7.3 hours per week on G8/37,  £47,4141 including London allowance pro-rata on 20%)

This post with the PI and Deputy PI of the Sloane Lab will deliver all aspects of research assistance needed to transform relevant aspects of Sloane Lab research into a research output in the form of a minigraph. This work will cover all aspects of manuscript research, writing up, submission and correction including: carrying out literature searches and environmental scan; writing additional literature reviews and environmental scan synthesis; editing and extending the extant drafts of the proposed output and assisting in refining the structure and argument as it currently stands; preparation of illustrations, visualisations, tables and other visual contextualisations of Sloane Lab research findings; getting image and data reuse rights where relevant; verification of quotations, insertion and checking of citations and preparation of bibliography; take the lead on checking the copy-edited manuscript & proofs if time allows; preparation of marketing materials for the press and on social media; and any other usual aspect of research assistance support that arises.

Post 2:

Research Assistant support for the elaboration and submission of Sloane Lab research outputs (1st of April until end of Project in summer 2024 / 0.4, 14.6 hours per week on G7/29 , £38,308 including London Allowance pro-rata on 40%)

This research assistant post will work closely with the PI and Deputy PI of the Sloane Lab to support all aspects of the preparation, submission and publication of Sloane Lab research outputs. The tasks to be completed by this post include: identifying appropriate theoretical frameworks for the contextualisation of Sloane Lab findings; writing additional literature reviews and conducting environmental scans; carrying out content and other quantitative or qualitative  analysis of research data; preparation of illustrations, visualisations and other contextualisations of Sloane Lab research findings; securing image and data reuse rights where relevant; population of Zotero bibliographies and Devonthink bibliographical database modules where relevant; verification of quotations and excerpts; insertion and checking of citations and preparation of bibliographies; and any other reasonable aspect of research assistance support that arises regarding the research outputs of Sloane Lab.
