Publications

The Freedom of Information Act and records management project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) for 14 months (2008-2009).

The researchers will disseminate theoretical and policy findings to professional, academic and public policy communities through a variety of means including conference papers, discussions at professional meetings and publications.


An article based on the project literature review has been published, Elizabeth Shepherd, Andrew Flinn and Alice Stevenson, 'The impact of freedom of information on records management and record use in local government: a literature review' Journal of the Society of Archivists 30: 2 (2009): 227-248.

The first article based on the data has been published, Elizabeth Shepherd, Andrew Flinn and Alice Stevenson, 'Information governance, records management and freedom of information: a study of local government authorities in England' Government Information Quarterly 27: 4 (Oct 2010): 337-345.

An updated literature review has been prepared by a visiting postdoctoral researcher, Marie Laperdrix, from the Institute National du Patrimoine in Paris, The Freedom of Information Act 2000: An updated literature review (2009-2011)
