I am an associate professor in the Department of Information Studies at University College London (UCL), where I teach and do research on topics related to Artificial Intelligence. I am also the Director of Research for the department and a co-director of the Knowledge, Information and Data Science research group. I hold a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Crete, a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a Professional Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher and Professional Education from the Institute of Education (University of London). My main research interests are in Knowledge Representation, Computational Argumentation, Knowledge Graphs, Commonsense Reasoning and Knowledge-based Systems. I have participated as a principal investigator or as a co-investigator in various EU-funded and national research projects. I have published over 80 papers in leading AI journals such as Artificial Intelligence, Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, and Knowledge-Based Systems, and conferences such as IJCAI, AAAI, ECAI, and KR.
