ARM student Alex Habgood has received an award

ARM student Alex Habgood has received a Certificate of Distinction at the annual Digital Preservation Coalition Awards, held at the iPRES Conference in Ghent.
Earlier in the year, he was nominated for the CLOCKSS Award for the Most Distinguished Student Work in Digital Preservation and he was shortlisted alongside three PhD students. The standard of the shortlist was very high and the judges wished to specifically recognise the practical and theoretical contribution of Alex's project and decided to award the certificate in addition to the main prize winner.
This was for a project Alex carried out on our Digital Curation module, called Bish Bash Backup. He produced a blog that focuses on digital preservation metadata and it reports on how he created a tool for implementing PREMIS in XML by automatically extracting and converting metadata into PREMIS-complaint format.
