Tim Arnett is Professor of Mineralised Tissue Biology at UCL research department of cell and developmental biology. His research interest focuses on 'fundamental' regulators of the function of osteoclasts (bone destroying cells) and osteoblasts (bone forming cells), and falls in the 3 main areas of Acidosis, Hypoxia and Nucleotides. This work falls into 3 main areas of acidosis, hypoxia and nucleotides.

He gained a PhD from the University of London followed by postgraduate studies at Columbia University and NY State Department of Health. He then became Assistant Professor at the University of Texas.  He moved to UCL as senior lecturer in 1997.
