Immunity & the antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19
24 April 2020
Professor Mala Maini recently spoke to BBC Newshour about immunity and the antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19.
In the interview with Tim Franks, Professor Maini discusses immunity to COVID-19, antibody testing and the viability of immunity passports.
Professor Maini also provides an explanation of how the novel coronavirus infects cells, using spike glycoproteins on its surface as a key that inserts into a lock on the cells, enabling the virus to open the door to that cell in order to get in and multiply.
