Budapest: All-Cause Mortality

In Budapest, there were 186,420 deaths from all causes over the study period (2001 - 2008).  This figure consists of 86,088 male deaths and 100,332 female deaths and is based on data from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office.

A deficit in all-cause mortality risk is evident in the districts of Buda and Óbuda in the West Bank of Budapest displayed in green tones on the map.  Lowest sSMRs are seen in the North-West areas of Adyliget-Széphalom and Huvösvölgy-Pasarét.  From these areas, sSMRs increase gradually throughout the rest of the West Bank.  Areas east of the River Danube exhibit an excess of all-cause mortality for both sexes.  An exception to the overall pattern in the East Bank is the low mortality risk evident in the central areas of Alsorakos, Rákosszentmihály, Sashalom and Árpádföld-Cinkota-Mátyásföld.
