In Helsinki, there were 10,682 deaths from ischaemic heart disease (diseases associated with the blood vessels supplying the heart) over the study period (2000 - 2009). This figure consists of 4,931 male deaths and 5,751 female deaths and is based on registry data provided by Statistics Finland.
