In Helsinki, there were 4,432 deaths from cerebrovascular disease (diseases associated with the blood vessels supplying the brain) over the study period (2000 - 2009). This figure consists of 1,512 male deaths and 2,920 female deaths and is based on registry data provided by Statistics Finland.
