Barcelona: Suicides

In Barcelona, there were 1,075 suicides over the study period (2000 - 2008).  This figure consists of 726 male deaths and 349 female deaths and is based on data from the Mortality Registry of Catalonia.  The spatial distribution of suicide mortality in Barcelona is demonstrated in the maps below for men only. Women have been excluded from this analysis, as female suicides did not occur in at least 30 percent of Barcelona's small areas during the study period.   For further information about how these maps were created, please visit the methodological section of the Atlas.
