In Amsterdam, there were 1,608 deaths
from haematopoietic cancer (cancers of the blood) over the study period (1996 -
2008). This figure consists of 838 male deaths and 770 female deaths and
is based on data from the Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (Statistics
Netherlands). The spatial distribution of mortality due to
haematopoietic cancer in Amsterdam is demonstrated in the maps below, shown
