The piano at Theresienstadt

MIGNONETTE AARONS started studying music as a schoolgirl, passing exams with distinction in piano and singing. Many years later she returned to her first love, the study of music, and sought teachers of piano, singing, theory and the history of music. She played at Master Classes at the Guildhall School of Music and performed extensively at many other venues and also in Israel as part of the 60th Anniversary celebrations. She teaches piano, singing and theory of music.

FORBIDDEN MUSIC

Having visited Prague and the Terezin concentration camp grounds, Mignonette felt moved to look into the musical life in the camp and discovered some wonderful music was composed there. She then thought to bring together different styles to show how music progressed in the hands of Jewish composers whose music had been banned, and to show the wealth of talent that could so easily have been destroyed.
