Institute for Global Health


IGH offers cutting edge programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These unite public health and clinical medicine with epidemiology, economics, political science, philosophy, law, geography, anthropology and other disciplines. In addition to the learning opportunities available within IGH, students have access to a wide range of seminars and lectures throughout UCL.

This programme allows students to take modules at TropEd network institutions in the UK, Europe, and around the world.

Short Courses

All our Masters modules are available as short and taster courses for professionals and those wishing to return to academic study.

We also offer short courses in research methods, health economics and statistics.

Undergraduate Study in Global Health


Undergraduate Medics

The Global Health iBSc is a year-long course for integrating 3rd year medical students. This pioneering iBSc was the first of its kind in Europe, and attracts outstanding students every year.

UCL Undergraduates

If you are studying at UCL, you are eligible to take any module from our undergraduate programme during your 3rd year. 

Study Abroad Programme

This programme enables junior (3rd year) and senior (4th year) undergraduate students from non-EU universities to take modules at IGH for one semester or for an entire academic year as part of their degree programme.
