On 8 July 2015, the UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH) held a simultaneous webinar and round-table to discuss the 'blind spot' around men's utilization of ART/HIV services, and to explore strategies to improve men's health-seeking behaviour within the context of the HIV epidemic.
Panellists included experts on men and HIV within the context of academic and gender justice responses. Health burden data, socio-behavioural science, and programmatic examples were shared, before participants engaged in a lively debate, including with a global online audience, on strategies to improve men's performance in the HIV care cascade.
This event was held as part of the Association for the Social Sciences and Humanities in HIV (ASSHH) Conference in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Collaborating partners included the University of Cape Town and Sonke Gender Justice. It was made possible through the support of an IGH ESRC-funded gender and health seminar series project.
