RESEARCH

Research interests:

  • Health related behaviours
  • Alcohol use
  • Life course epidemiology
  • Relationships between mental and physical health
  • Chronic disease
  • Genetics

Current research:

My work is investigating the relationship between alcohol consumption and cardiovascular outcomes. The current evidence base lacks an understanding of the effects that varying patterns of alcohol consumption across the life-course have on cardiovascular outcomes, and how these relationships are mediated through biochemical pathways. My work will use repeated measures of alcohol consumption from a number of different prospective cohort studies, to investigate the association between trajectories of alcohol consumption and changes in biomarkers associated with cardiovascular disease.
