Building Evidence | Supporting Inclusion

Inclusion health is a social justice movement to prevent and address the harms of extreme inequity through research, service and policy. We are a community committed to generating evidence for change.

The UCL Collaborative Centre for Inclusion Health (CCIH) has been established by a multidisciplinary team of researchers passionate about improving the health of some of the most vulnerable and underserved members of society.

The Centre aims to close the extreme gap in health and life expectancy in socially excluded groups by working across sectors nationally and internationally.  The centre aims to improve the care and outcomes of excluded groups (eg homeless, prisoners, migrants, drug users, sex workers) by:

  • Co-producing, supporting and collaborating on research projects
  • Testing and evaluating health services and interventions
  • Advocating and lobbying for evidence to underpin practice, policy, effective healthcare, service provision and integration and education across sectors
  • Striving to prevent social exclusion from occurring in the first place through research and advocacy on adverse childhood experiences and the wider determinants of health
