TRICCS: Primary-care based text reminders in colorectal cancer screening

TRICCS was the first large-scale trial of a GP-endorsed text-message reminder in the English Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. The study took place in a secure-encrypted cloud based server which connected 180 General Practices in six London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) with the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme London Hub. The primary outcomes were to ascertain the proportion of individuals returning an adequate gFOBt kit in each study group.

The project was funded by the North West London Hospitals NHS Trust from July 2015 to December 2016.
