Laura joined the Health Behaviour Research Centre in 2005 as a Research Assistant exploring knowledge and attitudes to human papillomavirus (HPV).  In 2009 she completed her PhD (funded by Cancer Research UK) on 'Acceptability of HPV vaccination for the prevention of cervical cancer'.  She worked on an 18-month project exploring stigma-related attitudes to cancer before starting a Cancer Research UK Post-doctoral fellowship exploring participation in cancer detection/prevention behaviours among women from ethnic minority backgrounds.  Laura now works as part of Dr Jo Waller's team and works on projects that aim to use behavioural science to increase participation in cervical cancer prevention programmes.
