What is OpenAthens?
OpenAthens is an access management system provided by Eduserv, which enables eligible users to access the online content that has been purchased for their use.
What content can I access with my OpenAthens account?
Eligible OpenAthens users can access HDAS and nationally purchased content, which includes bibliographic databases from Ovid (Medline, Embase, AMED, HMIC and PsycINFO) and ProQuest (BNI), full text databases from EBSCO (Cinahl and Health Business Elite) and journals from the BMJ and AMA collections.
How do I register?
Register at https://openathens.nice.org.uk/ using a GOSH computer and GOSH email address. If you need help with the online registration go to: http://www.evidence.nhs.uk/about-evidence-services/content-and-sources/openathens-registration-process
Am I eligible?
All staff of Great Ormond Street Hospital should be able to register for an account, though it is important to use your GOSH email address to ensure validation is successful.
For more information about eligibility please go to: http://www.evidence.nhs.uk/about-evidence-services/content-and-sources/eligibility-criteria-for-nhs-purchased-content
