Many congratulations to PhD student Mohammad Al-Hussan who has successfully secured a place in the ICURe Discover Programme.

Funded by Innovate UK, the programme will support Mohammad in evaluating the market potential of his research on improving the security and efficiency of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, mainly the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). This area of research has the potential of revolutionising cybersecurity for the healthcare industry, given that wearable medical devices are becoming increasingly important in the sector.

Speaking on this opportunity, Mohammad commented,

Being selected for the ICURe Discover programme is an exciting step in translating our research into real-world impact. Our work focuses on enhancing the reliability and resilience of wearable medical devices, and this opportunity allows us to engage directly with industry to better understand how these solutions can be adopted in practice.

His supervisor and Deputy Director of UCL ICCS, Dr Anna Maria Mandalari also added:

We are delighted to join the ICURe Discover Programme and grateful for the support from Innovate UK. This recognition is an important milestone for our team and a strong signal of the potential behind CyberMed. We believe this project can play a transformative role in revolutionising cybersecurity for the healthcare sector.

The project is supported by UCL Business (UCLB).
