ICCS Seminar Series
As a direct response to the measures used to combat the spread of COVID-19, the ICCS Online Seminar Series was launched in 2021-22 to connect our community in Bloomsbury and across the world.
Due to the success of this series, we are now back with a curated list of both in-person and hybrid seminars delving into all aspects of communications and connected systems.
Topics will either explore subjects close to the work of our academics or introduce wider concepts from experts in the global academic and industrial community.

Dr Chris Howe from BT, will deliver a talk on Web Application Firewall (WAF) and the underlying architecture that allows it to interpret human-readable traffic.

Professor David Kotz from Dartmouth College discusses the security and privacy risks associated with Smart Homes including results from his research project, SPLICE: Security and Privacy in the Lifecycle of IoT in Consumer Environments.

Machine learning in nonlinear and ultrafast photonics
Professor John Dudley reviews the rapidly developing area of machine learning in ultrafast nonlinear photonics, covering topics such as neural networks applied to data analysis, evolutionary algorithms for broadband source optimization, data-driven techniques for the discovery of physical models, and supercontinuum nonlinearity applied to optical neural networks.
