European funding, engagement and support 

With over 50 collaborative funding calls that have potential relevance to ICCS and EEE Dept., European programmes have great potential to support our research community and mission, however, in a dynamic landscape of the UK's country status and a new collaborative research programme, assessing opportunities and understanding the intricacies and support available is not easy.

This session has been coordinated specifically for members of the Institute of Communications and Connected Systems and the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, the content and calls that will be discussed has been tailored for the relevant domains.

The session will be broadly split into two sections: Collaborative programmes; Research management including ERC and MSCA calls.

This session will be of interest to, academics, PDRAs and research students looking to engage in European funded research.

• What is Horizon Europe?
• Horizon Europe strategy and Impact- how it needs to be described in proposals.
• Collaborative Work Programmes (now called Clusters)
• Specific calls relevant to ICCS (Call deadlines are currently September 2021 and Apr 2022)

Research management including ERC and MSCA calls

• Research Management team (formerly Research Contracts) – what we do

• Upcoming MSCA calls & changes
• Global Talent Visa
• Fee structure for PhD students. (Just to add a note, that we currently don’t have a lot of detail but I’ll share what I know)
