Biography
Adrian-Cristian Nicolaescu started his studies in 2012, at the University of Essex, as an Electronics Engineering Student. The following year, he transferred directly into second year, at the University of Sheffield, and finished the degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering, in 2016. He also worked on a 'Year in Industry' with GE Intelligent Platforms, within the industry of aerospace and defence ruggedized electronics design and production, during his degree at Sheffield, between 2014 and 2015.
Before starting to work on his PhD degree, he studied towards an MSc degree, at The University of Nottingham. Developing more of a passion for optics, photonics and telecommunications in general. There, he worked on a photonics project in Parity-Time Symmetric Structures, developing a new general design method for this specific type of devices, for his dissertation project. Adrian started his PhD concentrating on "Computing at the Edge of the Internet" in November 2017.
