Career Grade Doctor and Dentists

Work Outline Document (For Annual Completion)
All non-consultant (or equivalent) level Healthcare Professionals are required to hold an honorary NHS contract as a requirement of their UCL appointment.
Documents are under review and will be consulted upon prior to implementation.

UCL And Clinical Appraisal
All career grade doctors undertaking academic or research duties for UCL and registered with a Deanery for the purpose of their on-going clinical training are required to undertake both a UCL and Medical appraisal.

Medical Appraisal
Medical appraisal will be carried out by via your Deanery’s Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) programme. Please refer to your Deanery for further advice, or alternatively your Honorary NHS employers Medical Staffing or Human Resources Division for further information.

Revalidation is the General Medical Councils new way of regulating licensed doctors. Licensed doctors including doctors in foundation year two and specialty training will have to revalidate, usually every five years. In addition, for doctors in postgraduate training, they will also revalidate when they receive their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
Revalidation for UCL staff holding an Honorary clinical appointment will be coordinated by the Deanery at which the individual is registered.
