Are you a Research Staff member (Grade 7 or 8) navigating your next career move? The Career Aspiration Programme (CAP) provides structured support, expert guidance, and practical tools to help you define your career goals, explore opportunities, and take control of your career development. Through a career aspirations workshop, coaching opportunities, and e-learning modules, this programme will equip you with the confidence and resources to progress your career within and beyond academia.
This structured and supportive programme offers:
A Career Aspirations Workshop (May 19th, 2025) | A highly interactive day featuring expert speakers, reflection exercises, and practical tools to help you define career success, identify your strengths, and develop an actionable 90-day career plan. | See the programme information booklet for more details and eligibility requirements. |
Coaching Opportunities (June–October 2025) | A select group of 15 researchers who attend the workshop will receive three tailored coaching sessions with an experienced coach and their line manager to provide personalised career development support. | See the coaching introduction document and coaching workbook for more details. |
E-learning Modules (Launching Term 1 25/26) | On-demand resources in which senior UCL Research and Academic staff provide motivation and inspiration through lived experiences of developing key skills, academic promotion and exploring alternative career paths. | Coming soon! |
