Data cleanse of Right to Work statuses
30 January 2025
The UCL HR Immigration Compliance team are currently conducting a data cleansing exercise of Right to Work statuses and getting in touch via DocuSign with some individuals to check the type of visa they hold.
In order to ensure we have a record of accurate Right to Work statuses, and enhance our data quality and reporting for visa, holders we are carrying out a data cleanse exercise. Individuals who hold visas may be contacted by the UCL HR Immigration Compliance team via a DocuSign email and asked to confirm the via type they hold.
Please note that individuals who are British or Irish may have received this message if their Right to Work status was incorrectly recorded in MyHR or who may have acquired British Citizenship during their employment.
Why do we need this information?
Online checks do not always clearly indicate the specific visa an individual is subject to. UCL requires this information for categorisation purposes and for reporting to relevant authorities such as the United Kingdom Visa and Immigration (UKVI) and the Higher Education Statistics Authority (HESA).
Additionally, this information is essential for visa monitoring, including assisting with category changes and extensions.
If you have any questions or queries please raise a ticket on MyServices for the Compliance/Visa Enquiries Team under HR.
