A new approach for employees leaving UCL

10 February 2025

We are changing the way that resignations and employees leaving UCL are managed. From Friday 14 February any employees wishing to leave UCL for pastures new, should submit a leavers request on MyServices.

What’s changing?

From Friday 14 February, any staff member planning to leave UCL should:

Line Managers then need to approve this request on MyServices.

Why are we making this change?

Colleagues have told us that managing leavers can be challenging, with lots of processes and heavy administration. We’ve listened, and as part of our work to simplify our services, this new process has been designed to make things more straightforward and efficient for everyone.

We’re committed to creating a more user-friendly experience across all our services, and this change is just one example of how we’re making it easier to ‘get things done’.

What are the benefits for teams?

Previously, there were varied processes in place for resignations, with some being managed directly by line managers on behalf of their teams.

By moving leavers requests to MyServices, we aim to:

  • Reduce administrative tasks
  • Streamline the resignation process for colleagues
  • Provide clarity on what steps need to be taken

To submit a leavers request, visit the MyServices portal or speak to your HR contact.

Thank you for your cooperation in making this transition as smooth as possible.
