Workplace Health activity during the Covid-19 closure of UCL campus buildings
During UCL’s campus closure the Workplace health team continue to work remotely. We are contactable via MS Teams, telephone and email.
Of course there are some parts of our service that we have had to pause and we will re-start these activates as soon as we are able.
In the meantime, where we can services are offered remotely or on-line, and we have updated some of our processes to reflect what is currently possible, so that we can support UCL as best we can.
STUDENTS: Applications for 2020 entry
Please continue to submit your health questionnaires as requested to do so by your area of study. Our team will continue to process these remotely and will contact you if they require any further information by telephone and or email. Please direct any queries about course starts dates to the UCL Admissions team.
Health surveillance for laboratory animal allergens
Managers and supervisor should continue to submit for job hazard identification forms where required. We will continue to process these and will send out health questionnaires for individuals to complete.
The team will be reviewing these remotely and may contact you by telephone for clarification on health issue you have declared.
We have stopped undertaking routine spirometry clinics but will contact you to rebook any spirometry testing once the current Covid-19 control measures have been reviewed.
We are working on the basis of for the next three months spirometry will not be available (from 16th March 2020). This may be extended if Public Health England pandemic advice changes.
UCL occupational drivers
Please contact the Workplace Health team if you are due an assessment and continue to drive on UCL business check so you can continue to drive for UCL. UCL’s insurance policy is void without a current health assessment and you should not drive until this has been completed.
Incoming Electives / Outgoing Electives / Research Passports
Please continue to submit your required documents and our team will assess your documentation and contact you if required. If you have immunisation records please send us copies of these. Currently we are unable to offer immunisation or blood tests.
If you require a research passport for work in the national interest, please call the team directly to discuss 020 7679 2802 or email OHSadmin@ucl.ac.uk
Management / Self-referral for advice
Please submit your referral form in the normal way. We will then contact you to make an appointment with one of the team. Consultations will be offered remotely either by telephone or video conferencing in MS Teams.
We will resume any immunisations courses once Public health England advise that it is safe to do so.
