The EAP offers staff free, 24/7 confidential emotional support via a dedicated helpline, as well as advice and signposting on financial and legal matters. Staff can also access an online health and wellbeing platform with a range of practical support services for both personal and work-related issues.

- Available 24/7/365 for staff and their immediate family members
- Emotional and/or practical support when experiencing emotional distress/difficulties, or you need to offload and debrief with someone who is impartial to your situation.
- No restrictions on the number of times you can call this number.

- Counselling
About this service:
- Solution focused counselling.
- A set number of sessions available, per presenting issue, per year (1 September - 31 August)
- Available remotely or in person
- Availability to specific service subject to the outcome of a clinical assessment.
When the sessions would be appropriate:
If you:
- Are experiencing emotional distress, manifesting as stress, anxiety or low-level depression.
- Need assistance in developing healthier self-care techniques to promote healthier work-life balance and wellbeing.
- Need support dealing with challenging life events, (i.e. loss, parenting issues/concerns, interpersonal difficulties, work stress)
- Need support around marital/relationship/family issues.
A clinical assessment will be carried out with you, by a clinician, the outcome of this assessment will determine what support is going to be the most beneficial to you. The clinician may recommend that specialist or longer-term therapy would be recommended. Such examples would include, but are not limited to:
- Presence of long-standing psychological conditions.
- Extensive history of engagement with mental health services over a prolonged period of time.
- Evidence of historic or childhood trauma.
- Acute addiction, be it substance or behaviour related.
- Domestic violence or intimate partner abuse.
- Bereavement within the last 6 weeks

- Guided self-help via Computerised CBT
About this service:
- A version of CBT therapy delivered via app, web or a written workbook.
- Self-paced approach to managing low levels of anxiety, stress or low mood.
- Support to build mental resilience.
- Supported by a psychological wellbeing practitioner at the beginning and end of the treatment pathway, along with non-synchronise digital support on a weekly basis.

- Bereavement
Most services will not offer counselling to someone if they have been bereaved within the last 5- 6 weeks. If you are experiencing a recent bereavement, you can access bereavement support as an interim measure via the following services. Please see below:

- Marie Curie - access listening support if you have lost someone from an illness.
- Sands - offer baby support and loss information and guidance.
- Child bereavement UK - contact their helpline if you have been impacted by the death of a baby. They also provide advice and guidance on how to support yourself or others who are bereaved.
- Survivors of bereavement by suicide
- Facing the Future - support group if you have been bereaved by suicide and would like a space to talk about your experience with others who are experiencing the same.
