Richard Leakey is one of the world's most renowned palaeoanthropologists. Over 50 years he has led many field projects in East Africa, and, with Meave Leakey, has discovered some of the most important fossils tracing our evolutionary history and its context. These range from the earliest apes, to the first hominins, to the earliest members of our own genus and species. He will discuss what he sees as the major achievement in the field, and what are the current challenges to our understanding of human evolution.
Richard will be discussing the pressing issues still ahead from human evolutionary research.
