for mutual benefit. This seminar will discuss the 'Dragons' Den' assignment for undergraduates. The students are paired with research-intensive academics - they learn about their research and then create a business plan and open-ended portfolio of pathways to translation. Assessment includes presenting to a panel of external Dragons, with a prize of (chocolate) money! This UCL assignment is translatable to many disciplines, and has recently been taken up by Swinburne University of Technology as part of their new BSc in Engineering Practice. We will discuss ways to engage students with development of transferable skills and business and translation knowledge through active learning, how to provide support for this, and ways to engage our researchers in this process to create an authentic environment. There are no future events for this course listed.
