Andrew Seaton awarded the Morris D. Forkosch Prize

UCL History is delighted to announce that Andrew Seaton’s book Our NHS: A History of Britain’s Best-Loved Institution has been awarded The Morris D. Forkosch Prize in British History.

Andrew Seaton is a UCL historian of modern Britain and his book, Our NHS: A History of Britain’s Best-Loved Institution (Yale University Press, 2023), chronicles the history of the world-famous institution through the perspectives of patients, medical practitioners, trade unions and overseas health experts.
The American Historical Association offers the Morris D. Forkosch Prize annually in recognition of the best book in English in the field of British, British imperial, or British Commonwealth history since 1485. Submission of books relating to the shared common law heritage of the English-speaking world were particularly encouraged in memory of the late Professor Forkosch’s contributions to the field of legal studies and legal history.

Andrew has recently also been shortlisted for the Wolfson Prize 2024 and appeared in a research spotlight article by the Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences.
