Congratulations to Dr Mark Frost whose documentary film SCENE UnSEEN won the award for Best Documentary on Music at the 2022 Bangkok International Documentary Awards and Festival.

Scene Unseen

SCENE UnSEEN, which traces the history of Singapore’s underground music scene since the late 1960s, was co-produced, devised and written by Mark Frost in collaboration with the Singapore-based filmmakers Panuksmi Hardjowirogo and Michel Cayla. You can watch a trailer of the film on the Bangkok International Documentary Awards and Festival (BKK Doc Fest) Youtube channel here

The BKK Doc Fest has quickly become a prestigious competition over the last 3 years. The festival receives over 800 entries for competition, across 12 categories, which are judged by an international jury of 140. Around 112 films are officially selected for the festival and two films are nominated for each prize.

Previous winners of the BKK Doc Fest award for Best Music Documentary include Sun Shuyun's A Shanghai Symphony, Chris Gero’s The Sound of Us, and the Iranian director Arasha Eshagi's Gracefully.

In addition to winning Best Documentary on Music at the BKK Doc Fest, in 2022 SCENE UnSEEN was also selected for the Hanoi International Film Festival and the Blue Chair Festival in Luang Prabang.

Huge congratulations to Mark for this fantastic achievement!
