Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships 2023-2024

The scheme is intended for early career researchers, with a research record but who have not yet held a full-time permanent academic post, to undertake a significant piece of publishable work.

The UCL Faculty of Historical and Social Sciences is carrying out an internal selection process for this scheme to identify a maximum of four candidates to be supported with their application.

Candidates for the scheme who have a mentor based in UCL History will need to have submitted their application materials to the department no later than 4pm, Monday 16 October 2023.

Applying for this scheme via UCL History

  1. Candidates identify a potential mentor in UCL History and make contact with them.
  2. Applicants, once they have secured the agreement of their mentor, must submit the following documents:
    1. Complete a Leverhulme application form (this replicates the Leverhulme on-line application form) which you will find on this page.
    2. Provide a two-page cv, including a list of publications and their exact status (submitted, under revision, accepted and awaiting publication, published online, published in full etc).
  3. These two documents must be submitted to Claire Morley, Department Manager via email: claire.morley@ucl.ac.uk to reach her no later than the deadline of 4pm, Monday 16 October 2023.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of this initial selection stage no later than Monday 30 October. Thereafter those applicants selected for submission to the Faculty panel of assessors must be available to work on developing their application with the department, ready for the Faculty deadline of 4pm, Thursday 16 November 2023.
